The Jaiphu Lhakhang was a residential and retreat cell of the late Thruelzhig Gyeltshen Marpo, the predecessor of H.E. Gyeltshen Trulku Rinpoche, established during the time when Thruelzhig Gyeltshen Marpo Rinpoche has to prolong teachings to Mongar region (aka Zongar region) up on the request of the Zongar Dzongpon Kunzang Wngdi.

Later in the late 1990’s, it was reinstated as retreat centre, but could not progress due to derisory management and lack of dedicated effort from the Dratshang.

However, at the start of 2018, His Royal Highness Gyaltshab Jigme Dorji Wangchuck consented and graced the reopening of the retreat centre with noble patronage for the practitioners. Currently, nine monks are pursuing three year retreat courses under the spiritual guidance of H.E. Gyeltshen Trulku Rinpoche.
